Clearly set out and very well written, with lots of information as to the properties and applications of the crystals.
While this book is full of symbolic associations, they are not necessarily the ones based in folklore and collective consciousness that I enjoy. Gives such indepth information on each stone and at the back how to use them around the body for different problems such as stress. I would have preferred that each crystal entry had that specific information in it, honestly, rather than having a general section on it at the front of the book.
It covers the practical and esoteric properties of each stone, including spiritual, mental, psychological, emotional and physical effects, plus its use in crystal healing. It also contains a very informative section (with photos) on the various artificially shaped and natural shapes of crystals, so you can tell your 'cathedral', from your 'generator' from your geode. Definitely a book that you will use as a reference on a regular basis if you just like or use crystals and stones. The descriptions accompanying each of the crystals provide information on their appearance, worldwide distribution, attributes, actions and healing properties required to unleash their unlimited potential.
Next time I will be a little more discriminate about the crystal books I pick up, so that I know I am getting one that satisfies my own interests. Do you love the idea of living mindfully but find it impossible, in practice, to stay focused on the present moment? Has information about how crystals how made, a detailed description of each crystals properties, Has references to other things, including chakras. I found the Crystal Bible to be quite lacking in geological data (it's overly biased with metaphysical properties) and it uses a lot of unrecognised alternative names for the crystals - why when there are established/approved names? Also included is a detailed section on Crystal care, how to select your crystals, and how to use them, including gridding, meditation and healing applications.
The Crystal Bible Volume 2 provides an essential companion reference to the original bible, fully describing the properties of over 200 crystals not found in volume 1. People who believe in the power of crystals clearly find this book indispensable, and I am glad they have a book they love. There are lots of lovely pictures, though, which saves this book from being a single-star affair for me. This book is a good witchy reference but I wouldn't say it's the most in-depth for magic and again, remember to keep Western medicine in your arsenal.
