We have divided the table up by panel technology as well to make it easier to compare similar models. We would have rather had a flat format screen in this size to be honest, leaving the curve for the Odyssey G9 49″ mega-wide model where it is much more useful and relevant. The LG uses an IPS panel, and it has much better viewing angles and a slightly better response time. The Samsung has a higher refresh rate, 240Hz compared to the Dell's 165Hz, and its response times are significantly faster, resulting in clearer images in fast-moving scenes. There are a couple of “wings” that hang off the bottom of the screen as well as shown in the pictures, which house the front RGB LED lights. There was a decent 292 cd/m 2 adjustment range in total, so at the minimum setting you could reach down to a luminance of 72 cd/m 2.

The Odyssey G7 has an upgraded 240Hz refresh rate, the response time is much quicker, it has a wider color gamut, and it has RGB illumination. Besides the fact that the Samsung has a higher 240Hz refresh rate, they also have different panel types. The brightness control adjustment had reduced the luminance to a comfortable level now and contrast ratio remained strong thanks to the VA panel at 2048:1. The differences between them come down to their panel types as the Samsung has a higher native contrast, making it a better choice for dark room gaming.

The Samsung uses a VA panel, and it's a much better choice for a dark room, as it has much higher contrast and better black uniformity. The Samsung also has a more versatile black frame insertion feature, and the stand has better ergonomics with a better height adjustment and can rotate to portrait orientation and swivel.For the lowest input lag, leave Adaptive Sync enabled, with VRR Control disabled, as the input lag increases with VRR disabled or with the VRR Control setting on.
