About this deal
I use these for pretty much everything - gaming, watching movies, mixing, playing guitar, simply listening to music - it does it all much better than your typical gaming headphones which, to be fair, cost around the same as these.
I have a big head, but still I find these headphones to be very comfortable, even though the Pro version has a higher clamping force than the regular DT-880's.Of course, the PRO version does come with a curled cable and has a bit of a higher clamp force on your head, so you should keep this in mind too.
First I tried the Senns but I didn't like them for their build/look (very light, cheap looking plastic) and the sound (there I first heard the infamous Sennheiser veil). It’s fun to let yourself fall into the excellently well-reproduced space and wide sound image, where little is overdrawn in the frequency response. If you want natural, open and uncolored sound from a tough set of professional headphones, get a pair for yourself. I would and did get the 250 ohm model because it is easier to drive (I can use them without a dedicated amp if I need to, though they sound much better if I do. The single-sided cable allows the headphones to be put on and taken off frequently without cables getting tangled, and soft, adjustable ear cups provide for added comfort.
